About Me
At the Guildford School of Acting, based at the University of Surrey, I specialise in Scenic Arts and Construction, training at the university's purpose-built workshop.
My theatre journey started as a performer at school, The British School of Brussels, Belgium, before moving to stage management. After receiving basic training in Stage Management, Lighting, Sound and Video at university, I decided to pursue Scenic Arts and Construction, building and painting stage sets.
Having worked in a variety of departments, I have a well-rounded understanding of all areas of theatre. This broad knowledge is reflected in my work, past and present, and is a skill I endeavour to carry with me into future projects along with improving my craft with every new task.
Education
2020-2023
University of Surrey
Guildford School of Acting
Studying Theatre Production at GSA has equipped me with many skills such as bench carpentry, using power tools and large bench tools. Through training, I have found my strength as a Scenic Artist creating large painted set elements to a high standard. This pathway has allowed me to understand the technical elements of construction for stage sets as well as explore the world of scenic paint.
2008-2019
The British School of Brussels
Attending an international school in Belgium allowed me to work with teachers and students from all walks of life. I had the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art design and technology workshop in school, then in a well-equipped art studio in my senior years where I explored set design as a part of my A Level studies. I also worked closely with my peers in the Drama department as both a performer and a member of the stage crew. Working as a Stage Manager for junior and senior school productions sparked my interest in theatre.
