It's Nice to Meet You!
My name is Olivia Tellier (they/she), and I am a stage and events manager originally from the United States. I first discovered my passion for stage management in 2016 when I took my first course on the subject in undergrad. I immediately fell in love with the leadership, collaboration, and creativity required to be successful in this position, along with the ability to watch a production grow and transform between pre-production paperwork and closing night.
From 2019 to 2024, I taped sets and called cues professionally throughout the Eastern United States. I believe that you can never stop growing and learning, so in 2024 I moved to the UK to further my expertise with a Master's degree in Stage and Production Management at the Guildford School of Acting.
In the past year, I've expanded my abilities not only as a stage manager, but also as an events manager, technician, and theatre practitioner. I've gained experience in LX rigging and focusing, basic sound system set up, wet and dry props making, and video editing.

More information about my experience can be found on my LinkedIn and CreateBritain profiles, as well as my CV and timeline below.

I'm looking forward to collaborating with you on your next project!
My Career So Far
From fringe festivals to large-scale musicals, I have been privileged to work on a variety of productions across the Eastern United States.
2016 - 2019
Undergrad
My journey into stage management started in 2016, when I enrolled in my first course on the subject at Roger Williams University. At the time, I was a pursuing a major in Communications and minor in Theatre, convinced that a life in the arts was not for me. That class, however, convinced me otherwise. I quickly discovered a deep passion for the collaborative nature of stage management, and was inspired by the process of bringing a production to life from early concept discussions through final curtain. I found joy in the details, including taping out sets, organizing schedules and paperwork, and leading a team.

By the time I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and a Minor in Arts Management, I had stage managed 13 productions, including Monty Python's Spamalot, Spring Awakening, Tartuffe, Trojan Women, and multiple dance showcases.

2019 - 2020
Internships
After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Theatre and minor in Arts Management from Roger Williams University, I continued my theatrical training as a stage management intern at the 2019 Providence Fringe Festival, where I served as the stage manager and technical support for 8 productions - including one-act plays, a magician, and a clown.

In the autumn of 2019, I started a stage management internship at Portland Stage Company in Portland, ME. Whilst there, I was the production assistant for three plays: The Clean House, It's a Wonderful Life: a Live Radio Play, and Native Gardens. When not actively working on these productions, I supported other departments at the theatre, including lighting, sound, scenery, props, education, and company management. These opportunities strengthened my technical skills and understanding of the workings of a regional theatre.

2020 - 2021
Pandemic Theatre
When the theatre world turned digital as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, I adapted with it, allowing theatre makers to continue telling their stories. I worked closely with 11 & 1 Theatre Collective, an organization co-founded by me and the ten other interns at Portland Stage Company. We produced staged Zoom readings of new plays featuring actors from across the country. I stage managed the readings for Icarus And Amelia Earhart Had Tea This Morning, Women in Space! Gaslight Supernova, and Lot's Wife.

I also had the pleasure of working with The National Women's Theatre Festival (formally the Women's Theatre Festival) on their 2020 production of Occupy the Stage, a festival of new works written by women and people of marginalized genders. The following year, I returned digitally to NWTF as the caption runner for Othello.

I was also honored to be the stage manager of #ENOUGH: Plays to End Gun Violence produced by the Wilbury Theatre Group. #ENOUGH was a festival of seven, one-act plays written by teenagers about the effects of gun violence in the United States. Our production of #ENOUGH can be viewed here. For more information about ENOUGH!, please click here.

2021 - 2023
Non-Equity Roles
As theatre gradually transitioned back to in-person productions in 2021, I also returned to the theatre. In 2021, I spent my summer at NCCA Jean's Playhouse in Lincoln, NH, where I assistant stage managed The Sound of Music (outside, on the side of a mountain!), Clue: the Musical, Evita, and Forever Plaid.

In the autumn of 2021, I returned to Rhode Island as a production assistant at Trinity Repertory Company, where I worked as a production assistant on a variety of plays including Tiny Beautiful Things, Sueño, Fairview, A Christmas Carol (2022), and The Inferior Sex.

2023 - 2024
AEA Roles
In 2023, I became a proud member of Actors' Equity Association, the labour union representing actors and stage managers in the United States. I returned to Trinity Repertory Company as the AEA assistant stage manager of Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, The Good John Proctor, Becky Nurse of Salem, and ASM cover of August Wilson's Fences.

In late 2023, I accepted my first AEA production stage management contract at Lyric Stage Company of Boston for their production of Made You Look, a part of their educational programme Lyric Back Stage. Lyric Back Stage produces plays for middle and high school students in the Boston area. Each performance begins with a theatre design workshop to introduce students to technical theatre, and is followed by a performance where student can see those technical skills in action. More information about Lyric Back Stage can be found here.

In 2024, I expanded my professional experience beyond New England as the AEA assistant stage manager of Sound Bites Eleven produced by Theatre Now New York. Sound Bites is an annual a festival of ten, ten-minute musicals by emerging writers and composers.

I spent the summer of 2024 in sunny Saugatuck, Michigan as the AEA assistant stage manager of Beautiful: the Carole King Musical and Million Dollar Quartet at Saugatuck Center for the Arts.

2024 - 2025
UK Stage Management Roles & Placements
In 2024, I embarked on a new journey by pursuing a Master of Arts in Stage and Production Management at the Guildford School of Acting (GSA). This one-year intensive course has provided me with invaluable hands-on experience as a stage manager in the UK, and extend my skillset to include LX and sound rigging, props making, and video editing.

My first UK stage management experience was as a Stage Management Placement for Three Sisters at Shakespeare's Globe, written by Anton Chekhov and translated by Rory Mullarkey.

As soon as my placement ended, I joined the SM team of The Great American Trailer Park Musical at GSA as the ASM. I also assistant stage managed the Discovery Stage for the annual Move it! dance convention at the ExCeL Center in London with Orange Jackets.
Two days after the final curtain for Trailer Park, I started my next Stage Management Placement for The Brightening Air by Conor McPherson at the Old Vic in London.

Currently, I am the DSM of GSA's production of Fanny and Alexander. More information about our production can be found here.
