Gee King

I am a Freelance theatre and live events technician who specialises in Lighting technology and Lighting design. I have some experience in sound, stage management, and construction, as well as lighting specifically. I have worked on a wide variety of events such as Theatre shows, live events, and conferences. 

Before my degree, I trained at Birmingham Ormiston Academy, specialising in Lighting for Live events and theatre and occasionally helped in Broadcast lighting. Whilst studying at college, I successfully applied to attend the 2023 Brit Awards as a work-experience lighting technician with PRG. 

Alongside my college and /university course, I have worked as a freelancer. I have worked with a few different companies as a freelancer, such as TSL, STORM Ltd and The Old Rep theatre in Birmingham, where I covered Stage, Lighting, and Flys.

I am a multiskilled theatre technician who strives to take on any new challenges and opportunities to widen my knowledge.

In May 2025, I was one of the few students selected for the Showlight student program, where I had the opportunity to travel to Dijon with industry professionals from around the world to discuss and learn more about lighting.
