Alice By Heart  (Guildford School of Acting)

During this production, I was able to be present for the whole process (pre-rehearsal to get-out) which allowed me to learn a lot about being adaptive when creative choices change or supporting the cast with any issues that occurred throughout the process.

  • Liasing with the director/designer and creating a props offer list for them after reading the script

  • Sourcing contrasting props (props for 'wonderland' and 1940 style)

  • Creating/cutting patterns to create puppets

  • Using the sewing machine to create fish puppets

  • Understanding how puppets are transported for tours

Propworks  (London)

When I joined Propworks, they were working on a big project for 'Harry Potters Forbidden Forest Experience' which required large quantities of different props. I learnt a lot about how props are created for live experiences and how to work collaboratively as a team when under tight deadlines.

  • Sanding/priming models

  • Spray painting finishes

  • Keeping the workshop tidy and organised

  • Working collaboratively with different prop makers

  • Understanding more about different materials that are used for live experiences/theatre to stay durable and sustainable

  • Organising props and packaging them up to be transported to their final destination

GAMES MASTER

September 2019 - Current

Tulleys Farm Escape Rooms (Sussex)

I have been an experienced Games Master for over 5 years at Tulleys, which has won awards for being the best rooms in the country. I am trained on all 5 rooms; it is theatrical, immersive and as a GM you have to put a show on for every team, every hour!

  • Safety checks/set up the room

  • Briefing each team (varies between 2-8 players)

  • Running the room (involves creating illusions, giving cryptic clues in a special character voice, paying close attention to what each player is doing/saying)

  • Debriefing the team (finding out what they enjoyed/what we can improve on or congratulating them for escaping!)

  • Resetting the room in 20 minutes

  • Repairing props

  • Ensure everything within the room is safe and accessible to the general public
